Discover the ancient practices of Tai Chi and Qi Gong in this calming and restorative class. Perfect for beginners, this session will guide you through gentle movements, breathwork, and mindfulness techniques designed to enhance balance, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing. Learn how these time-honored traditions can bring harmony to your body, mind, and spirit.

This session combines gentle Qi Gong movements to enhance energy flow with structured Tai Chi practice focusing on six movements from the traditional 24-form sequence. The goal is to improve strength balance, flexibility, coordination, and overall well-being while fostering relaxation and mindfulness. Come as you are—no prior experience is necessary!

Tai Chi Movements to be learned: 7. Grasp the Bird’s Tail (Ward Off, Roll Back, Press, and Push) 8. Single Whip 9. Wave Hands Like Clouds (both sides) 10. Single Whip (repeat) 11. High Pat on Horse 12. Kick with Right Heel

About the Instructor: Oscar Flores is a dedicated wellness coach, holistic practitioner, and community leader with a rich history of service and professional achievement. A graduate of California State University, Chico, with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a minor in Biology and Recreation, Oscar combines his academic background with over 15 years of hands-on experience in health education, sustainability, and community empowerment. His journey has taken him from the Peace Corps in Suriname, where he led sustainable development projects and health initiatives, to Los Angeles, where he has served as a Tai Chi, Qi-Gong, and yoga instructor, as well as a youth soccer coach. Oscar’s passion for wellness extends into his work as an arborist, energy specialist, and advocate for sustainable solutions. Bilingual in English and Spanish, he excels at connecting with diverse communities, promoting physical and mental well-being, and fostering personal growth. Oscar's holistic approach, combined with his dedication to education and empowerment, has made him a trusted mentor and leader in wellness and community development.
