Our Class Schedule
Q4 Active circuit classes are “for all levels,” and are offered Monday through Saturday (no classes on Sundays, at this time). Advanced-level classes are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 8:30-9:15AM. For class descriptions, see further below.
Always check the actual schedule at least 60 minutes before scheduled start of your desired class. If the class is listed, be sure to book yourself into that class. By reserving your space in that class an hour or more in advance, the probability of that class being cancelled due to low attendance is greatly reduced. Walk-ins are not recommended, as the daily schedule is subject to same-day changes, albeit infrequently.
Q4 Active Circuit
The circuit has six (6) different stations: Brain Training; Strength and Power; Core, Balance, and Stability; Heart Rate Training; Speed, Agility, and Quickness; and Mobility and Flexibility.
All circuit stations are visited in every circuit class, each class begins with a warm-up of the body and brain, and each class ends with a cooldown. The circuit portion of class involves performing movement or exercise for a specific amount of time (e.g., 60s), resting for a specific amount of time (e.g., 30s), and repeating, or rotating to a new station to perform a new activity.
Class participants typically assign themselves to a small subgroup (i.e., 3 persons max per station), and that subgroup completes the circuit together. There is no waiting for a group in front of you, and there is no pressure from a group behind you.
Feel free to contact us with any questions, comments, or concerns.
Circuit Class Descriptions
Agile Not Fragile
Agility and fragility are terms that can apply to both the body and the mind. Agility is the ability to move and change direction quickly, and easily. It can be used to describe someone who is able to think and react quickly, also known as being, “quick on one’s feet.” In contrast, fragility can be defined as being delicate, brittle, easily broken, shattered, or frail. We want the former, not the latter. Speaking of ladders, you’ll perform a series of agility ladder drills to improve your footwork. You’ll be asked to go down to the ground and perform spinal mobility through flexion and extension exercises done on your hands and knees, and you’ll perform bridges to strengthen your posterior (e.g., glutes, erector spinae). For your brain, you’ll seek out matched pairs of dice on the SMARTFit® Pro Trainer Wall, and when not successful, must turn around, walk or quickly step away, and then return to take another shot a finding a match.
Heaven Can Weight
Experience the power of progression in Heaven Can Weight, a group circuit class designed to build muscular strength and endurance using the ‘overload principle.’ The overload principle suggests that by gradually increasing resistance (e.g., lifting heavier dumbbells, pulling on heavier bands), and progressively overloading your body, you grow stronger with an increase in muscle tissue, muscle strength, bone density, and overall fitness. You'll work hard in this class so as to avoid or revert conditions such as sarcopenia (i.e., muscle tissue loss) and muscle weakness, osteopenia/osteoporosis (i.e., bone loss) and the frequently associated fractures. Whether you’re lifting weights or using your own body weight, you'll challenge yourself each session to find your limits safely, and then move beyond them. Modifications always available for all fitness levels. Perfect for those looking to push past plateaus, achieve new fitness goals, and increase longevity.
Over The Rainbow
What's your favorite color? Maybe it's emerald, like the forest of OZ? Chances are this class will feature your favorite in this feast for your eyes, bringing in many colors of the spectrum to stimulate your brain, and challenge your body. Chase your assigned color in the Brain Training station using the SMARTFit Training wall, then just try and walk away from the Strength and Power station. Large resistance bands placed around your waist will make that quite difficult will make it difficult to escape. Our blue BOSU balls will be involved in the Core Balance and Stability station, your heart rate may soar high like the wicked witch's flying monkeys in the heart rate training station, and you'll also perform trunk rotations using your assigned colored resistance tube. Getting low to the ground is an activity of daily living for many, like when you are playing on the ground with your grandkids, or picking up after little pets, or pulling garden weeds. In the Mobility/Flexibility station you are going to be picking up small plastic cups of various colors, and you'll be surprised at how challenging and fun it can be. There's a treasure at the end of this rainbow and it's called longevity.
Racquets, Ropes, and Rungs
This circuit class is designed to challenge your body and mind, providing a full-spectrum fitness experience. Class begins with light cardio warm-up to prepare your body. Then, a variety of dynamic exercises are combined in a circuit, interval format to boost your strength, coordination, cardiovascular health, mobility, and agility. Class will conclude with a cooldown stretching and relaxation exercises. Challenge your cognitive and physical abilities simultaneously at the SMARTfit wall, the interactive station that requires you to perform physical tasks while responding to visual and auditory stimuli, enhancing your brain-body connection. Exercises here will improve your reaction time, decision-making, multiplication and multitasking skills. At the Strength and Power station, you’ll engage in high-intensity battle rope pulls of weighted bags to build upper body and core strength. You’ll next perform sit-to-stands, calf raises and core lean-backs in the Core, Balance, and Stability station before moving on to the Heart Rate Training station where you’ll jump into the Skier Machines to elevate your heart rate and enhance your cardiovascular fitness. You’ll improve your reflexes and hand-eye coordination at the Speed, Agility, and Quickness Station with racquet plus ball drills. These fun and challenging exercises require precision, timing, and quick reactions. Keep your shoulders healthy and strong, and maintain and improve your shoulder mobility with “alphabet” exercises at the Mobility and Flexibility Station. These movements use body weight against the force of gravity for resistance and focus on strength, flexibility and range of motion in your shoulder joints. As a bonus, the active transition portions of class uses agility ladder drills to enhance your agility, speed, and coordination. Navigate through a series of ladder patterns, such as high knees, lateral shuffles, and in-and-out steps, to improve your footwork and overall athleticism. These drills are designed to increase your agility, quickness, and precision.

Re-Action Potential
This class primarily focuses on improving your reaction time, overall movement speed, and power (i.e., the ability to move or lift weights at fast speeds), all of which are important in reducing your risk of falling. Class always begins with a warm-up for both the body and the brain. You will cycle through all six circuit stations, including the use of battle ropes, performing incline planks, and getting your feet to move quickly with control, all while systematically elevating and lowering your heart rate (i.e., interval training) for a terrific heart rate training experience. Class concludes with a cool-down and some light flexibility training.
Sunny Side Up
When this class is over, you won't think it was easy. If you do it correctly, you'll be fried, and that's no yolk. Elevate your fitness with this dynamic, interval, circuit class designed to challenge and engage your entire body through a variety of functional exercises. This workout combines strength, stability, agility, and mobility to help you achieve a balanced and strong body. Intervals of moderate to vigorously intense activity are followed by short periods of active transitioning, ensuring you get the most out of the session. Specifically, you will strengthen your core and improve balance with effective exercises targeting the sides of your body, (e.g., obliques, side-to-side stabilizing muscles). Enhance your agility and coordination by navigating through low hurdles, emphasizing multi-directional movement. Tone your legs and glutes while increasing resistance and stability using exercise tubing for added challenge. Boost your cardiovascular endurance and core strength by tapping a medicine ball to your knees in a dynamic, hip-opening motion. Improve your flexibility and mobility with mobility stick exercises. So, join us for a full-body workout that will leave you feeling strong, flexible, and energized.
Ten-Hut!
Ten HUT, or ("Huh-Tennn-HUT"), is a command that means "Come to attention." Not just a cue to pay attention with your brain, but it's also a cue to adopt a certain physical posture. This class focuses on the cognitive domain of attention, and also emphasizes proper physical posture or body position while performing specific activities in the circuit. This is not a boot camp class, but be prepared to stand (or sit) up straight, lift your chest, and tuck in your chin while you have fun chasing targets around the SMARTFit Wall, putting together combinations of boxing-related punches, and more.
Thanks for the Memories 2.0
You may recall that a legendary entertainer chose the song, “Thanks for the Memories” as his anthem during the Q4 of his life. That entertainer was Bob Hope, and speaking of hope, you don’t want to rely on hope in order to remember the important sign posts, both large and small, on the road that is your life. You must continually challenge and develop your memory skills just as you must continually challenge your muscles and bones to stay strong and nimble. In this class, we will play fun memory games, trivia, and more while we simultaneously physically challenge our bodies. Dynamic variable resistance training (DVRT), and low hurdles are also introduced to replicate obstacles you frequently encounter on a daily basis.
Three's Company
Jack, Chrissy, and Janet always had fun together, and so will you and your fellow Q4 Active "roommates." The theme of this class is the number three. You'll chase multiples of the number "3" around in the brain training station, perform three repetitions of a specific activity before switching to another activity. We'll use the Flexline cable station, dumbbells, Y-bells, sandbells, slam balls, weighted balls, and more. Mostly, we'll have fun (which just happens to be a three letter word).
Walking The Plank
Argh! Jack Sparrow, pirate captain of the Black Pearl, understood the importance of balance, lest he should fall and be finished by sharks. With his trusty blade, he stayed aboard his ship and avoided peril. Having balance is key to not falling, and balance involves three of your bodies systems: Visual, Vestibular, and Proprioceptive. In Walking the Plank, you’ll work on foot and ankle mobility and sensibility which will help you to perform amazing acts of balance, traversing a narrow beam while doing your best not to fall into the abyss (Note: actual beam is just 1” off the ground). While you won’t swing a cutlass, you will use a Bodyblade® to harness the power of vibration and inertia and create rapid muscular contractions. Trust us, you need this. At the SMARTFit® wall, you will knock out the lights as if you were battling other buccaneers. What’s the booty of this class? Balance and stability, upper body and core strength, and mental quickness.
ZUMBA GOLD®
Zumba GOLD® is specifically designed for Active Older Adults, beginners, people with limited movement capabilities, and really anyone who is looking for a modified Zumba® class. It is considered low impact, and low-to-moderate intensity. The design of the class is easy to follow choreography. All elements of fitness are addressed including cardiovascular conditioning, strength training, balance, flexibility, and more.
