Basic Self-Defense for Older Adults: Weekly Workshop Series

Join us for an empowering and practical series of self-defense workshops designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills to protect yourself in various situations. This four-part workshop series begins July 9 (Tuesday), repeats the following three Tuesdays at same time, and will cover the following topics:

Session 6 (August 13, 2024): "Guard Tactics Using the Defense Kitty Key Chain Tool"

Presenter: Jennifer Silverstein, of Kravgirl Tactics. is a 3rd degree Black belt in Street Smart Survival System and Hand To Hand Combat, holding multiple certifications in self-defense, using both lethal and non-lethal tactics to defend yourself.

Sessions already completed:
Session 1 (July 9, 2024): "Footwork, Distance, and Angles"
Session 2 (July 16, 2024): "Defenses"
Session 3 (July 23, 2024): "Weapons on Your Body"
Session 4 (July 30, 2024): "Open- & Closed-Hand Strikes"
Session 5 (August 6, 2024): "Open- & Closed-Hand Strikes"

NOTES:

(1.) Cost of each workshop session is $30 for non-members, and $25 per session for Members. Members must log into the Members Area, or the Q4 Active app in order to see preferred pricing.

(2.) There will not be any sparring, and there will not be any forceful contact. There will be, however, some person-to-person contact and touching when practicing some of the very important self-defense tactics. Please be comfortable with this.
